Step Ladders To Help You Step Up To The Challenge

There are many kinds of useful tools that are essential to have in your home. Every home should have a basic tool set with a hammer, screwdriver, wrench or at least an all-in-one tool that does it all.  You never know when you're going to need to make a simple repair.  One valuable tool that is often overlooked is the step ladder.  Step Ladders help to lift you when something you need to repair or reach is too high for you.  This is a much safer option than using a kitchen chair to reach something you need in a high cabinet.

Ladders are like portable stairs you can carry around your home or workplace. They come in a variety of sizes and types depending on your needs.  There are folding, plastic, aluminum, fiberglass and extension Step Ladders that come in 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 foot lengths for standard home use.  There are also smaller types that have 2, 3 or 4 steps which can be used indoors or outdoors.  If you have something that is particularly high, like your roof or a window, a 5-8 foot aluminum extension ladder can come in handy.

The various materials used to make Step Ladders include fiberglass, wood and aluminum.  The wood types while sturdy, are prone to wood rot and might not last as long as aluminum or fiberglass types.  Aluminum versions are relatively sturdy but have weight limits that might not work for everyone.  The fiberglass types are not electro-conductive and are safer to use when you are working with or around electricity.  They are also sturdier and more durable than aluminum.

Some of the top brands and models you can use at home or on the job include the Werner heavy duty fiberglass models, the Little Giant 10310B 3-step Little Jumbo safety ladder with a bar and tray and the Cosco 20652GAB World's Greatest 6 foot Lite aluminum step ladder.  These are just a few examples of the types and brands of Step Ladders you can find online or at your local home improvement store.  The next time you need a boost, consider using one of these valuable home essential ladders instead of a kitchen chair.
